On the day of the procedure the areas will be marked for treatment after confirming the plan once again. Small incisions (only 3 millimeters!) are placed in inconspicuous areas so as to maximally reduce any visible scars. Numbing fluid is placed into the areas and then Dr. Reilly, using only the proven techniques he has learned and developed over decades, removes the fat …forever! A gentle compression garment is placed on the areas treated and there is minimal to no wound care required. For his new in-office liposuction treatment Dr. Reilly will first prescribe a relaxing medication. A companion will drive you to the office where the procedure is performed with your favorite music playing. The fat is gently removed forever from areas of your body that have disappointed you for some time. A snug garment is placed on the areas treated and there is no wound care required. For patients who want large amounts of frustrating fat removed or who have other life changing procedures performed at the same time, such as a tummy tuck, Brazilian butt lift, brachioplasty (arm lift surgery) or breast surgery, Dr. Reilly will work with you on choosing one of the many hospitals in the area where he has privileges to perform your surgery safely. In-Office Liposuction

As the name suggests, in-office liposuction is done in Dr. John Reilly’s relaxing office environment. It involves inserting a thin tube called a cannula to suction fat from the target areas. In-office lipo is minimally invasive since tiny incisions are created to insert the cannula. It can be performed while the patient is awake under local anesthesia.

IDEAL CANDIDATES FOR IN-OFFICE LIPOSUCTION

You may be a good candidate for in-office lipo if you have stubborn deposits of excess fat that do not respond to any exercise regimen or diet program. It is important to be within range of your ideal weight, with no fluctuations in body weight six months prior. Patients should also have good muscle tone and relatively elastic skin. Ideally, the patient should be a non-smoker in good overall health with a positive outlook. If you have underlying conditions or life-threatening illnesses, you may not be recommended to undergo this procedure.

How do I know if I’m a candidate for the procedure?

Liposuction is great for patients who have stubborn areas of fat they just can’t seem to get rid of through diet and exercise. It is great for patients who have extra fullness in areas that break the gentle curves of the female form. However, keep in mind that liposuction is not a weight-loss procedure but is a great technique to help reduce bulges and areas of excess compared to the surrounding areas. Dr. Reilly can let you know if liposuction is right for you during your consultation.
Will this procedure leave scars?

Yes. Dr. Reilly must place incisions in order to remove the fat, and incisions leave small scars. However, Dr. Reilly will make the incisions as small and discreet as possible, so you can wear revealing clothes to show off your new shape without concern for scars. The thin scars are only 3-4 mm wide!
What’s the recovery like after the surgery?

Recovery will depend on the amount of fat removed and whether your liposuction procedure is combined with any other procedure. The areas will be bruised and there will be some swelling that resolves over a number of weeks. There is minimal wound care required, but usually a support garment is worn for two to three weeks. Small areas of liposuction usually only require a few days of recovery.
How much will the surgery cost?
