Children are a wonderful gift unlike any other, but pregnancy can drastically change a woman’s body. If you want to reclaim your old figure it may be time to consider a mommy makeover.
A mommy makeover can be a variety of surgical procedures tailored to correct the changes to your body following pregnancy but usually includes treatment of your breasts and abdominal wall. But a mommy makeover is anything a Mommy wants!
It may include a simple breast lift to restore the perkiness to the breast in addition to an abdominoplasty or “tummy tuck” where your loose muscles are tightened, and your extra skin of the abdominal wall is removed. It includes a nicely shaped belly button as well! You can also add an implant to the breast if the volume has become too deflated or to provide you with size or shape that you might never have had! Of course, you can add small areas of liposuction to further narrow your waist or reduce fullness in the inner upper thigh or your back. Liposuction of the arms is always a nice addition! Each procedure is customized to fit your needs.
Dr. Reilly and his staff were awesome. They were all very nice and professional and the results of my tummy tuck were amazing. I couldn’t be happier. The doctor and his staff also made themselves very available to answer any questions that I had during the healing process. Highly recommend!
After having children, you may feel uncomfortable with your body and stop wearing the clothes you enjoyed wearing because of a lack of confidence in your appearance. For many women, the additional sacrifice of droopy breasts and abdominal wall bulging after pregnancy can take away some of the happiness of raising a child. There are solutions!
Recovery is a process not a particular day on the calendar. You will need some help early on the recovery and less towards the end. Most patients can return to work within 2 to 3 weeks. Rest assured Dr. Reilly and his staff are with you through the entire process including phone calls and texts with Dr. Reilly on a nearly regular basis to ensure you are doing well.
Following a physical exam, Dr. Reilly’s significant experience in performing Mommy Makeovers will allow him to provide you with an accurate assessment of your anatomy and share with you the procedures that will address your goals, those that will not as well as the results he expects to see.
Since safety is our number one priority, Dr. Reilly and your primary care physician will evaluate your medical history and the risk of surgery. Patients who are in good health, have reasonable expectations and suffer with problems for which there is a safe, low risk surgical procedure, can be excellent candidates for a Mommy Makeover!
After you meet with Dr. Reilly and choose the problem areas you want improved, you will then have an opportunity to meet with Kristie, our Aesthetic Surgery Coordinator, who will discuss with you in a ‘no pressure’ environment the cost of the procedures, financing options, scheduling matters and answer all your questions so we can make the steps of having your restorative surgery a very simple process.
