When you pick up your prescriptions, you must also purchase ONE preservative-free over-the-counter saline eye drop and ONE over-the-counter eye ointment.

The post-operative period is the most important time to ensure a smooth recovery. Your activities matter. Careful adherence to these instructions reduces the risk of bleeding and blood clots. Read this entire page and all package inserts for medications or products you use.
- IMMEDIATELY AFTER SURGERY (First 7 Days)
Stay hydrated. Walk gently several times daily. Avoid prolonged bed rest. Wear compression stockings for one week.
- MEDICATIONS
Do NOT take aspirin or aspirin-containing products.
Use acetaminophen for mild pain. Use prescribed medication for moderate pain.
- WOUND CARE
Apply cold compresses 10–15 minutes hourly for first 24 hours.
Use Aquaphor or Vaseline as directed.
- ACTIVITY RESTRICTIONS
First week: Avoid bending, lifting, exercise.
First two weeks: Avoid contact lenses, alcohol, smoking.
- OFFICE HOURS AND EMERGENCIES
Office hours are Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
After hours, diagnoses cannot be made by phone or text.
Proceed to the ER or dial 9-1-1 for concerning symptoms and notify Dr. Reilly once en route.
