Brachioplasty New Haven Enjoy Lean, Toned Arms

Brachioplasty

How It Works

Brachioplasty

Your brachioplasty is a procedure performed in a local hospital. Dr. Reilly will use his skill, experience, and special techniques to remove excess skin and fat from the upper arms. He will often reshape your outer arm and shoulder region with liposuction to give your arms a more athletic look.

Yes, your muscle definition is underneath that loose skin and extra fat! Dr. Reilly’s experience with many brachioplasties has taught him that liposuction is an extremely helpful addition to skin excision to help define and highlight the muscular anatomy that we all have in the upper arms and shoulder region.

There are no sutures or staples on the outside skin which helps reduce scarring. The surgery takes approximately an hour and a half and you are discharged home the same day with detailed instructions and pain medications.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Call us if you have any more questions. (203) 924-2900

  • How do I know if I’m a candidate for the procedure?

If you are unhappy with loose, sagging skin (“bat wings”) and possibly excess fat around your upper arm and shoulder region, you may be a candidate for an arm lift.

  • Will I have a scar after the procedure?

Yes. This and all surgeries will leave a scar. Dr. Reilly will always place the scar in the most hidden area possible, on the inside of the arm towards the back.

  • How big will the scar be?

The size of the scar will depend on what Dr. Reilly needs to do to sculpt your arms. Rest assured that this will be discussed with you beforehand. The scar is only as long as it needs to be to give you the best result possible, never longer!

  • What’s the recovery like after the surgery?

Dr. Reilly will send you home with detailed recovery instructions. Dr. Reilly’s years of experience and practical approach to surgery and recovery have made wound care very simple. You can shower in two days and you should be able to return to work in a week or so, depending on your job duties.

  • How much will the surgery cost?

Because each surgery is tailored to the patient’s individual goals, and needs, costs can vary from patient to patient. You will be provided with a fee quote at the time of your visit from Dr. Reilly’s caring staff. For those patients interested in financing their surgery, rest assured that there are many payment options available.
